About Sagamore Crossing

The location of Green Meadow Golf Club, and its proximity to the highways and other businesses, means that the land is especially important to the Town of Hudson. There is no other property in town that offers such far reaching prospects for investment and for increasing the tax base. Many town officials and citizens have recognized the potential for the site, but express concerns that it must be done in an appropriate and reasonable way. We agree.

Our new vision for Sagamore Crossing is of a smaller project which addresses the concerns of the community, and at the same time, acknowledges the importance of this property as an economic resource for the region. We hope to include a variety of commercial uses on a carefully planned site that respects the environment and the particular natural conditions of the land.

It is our hope that Sagamore Crossing will create a common gathering place for Hudson residents, providing social and financial benefits to the community.

As currently proposed, Sagamore Crossing is much less intense, overall, than the previous plan. Compared to the previous plan, Sagamore Crossing will:

  • Create less traffic;
  • Include road improvements that will direct traffic from Lowell Road to new roadways that are designed to handle existing traffic more efficiently;
  • Include new travel options that will create additional capacity for future needs;
  • Preserve more open space (approx. 100 acres);
  • Reduce wetland impacts by approximately 25%;
  • Avoid wetland buffers;
  • Eliminate controversial large anchor stores in the area of existing residential uses;
  • Include an assisted living residential campus which will serve as a transition to the commercial development;
  • Relocate proposed Hotel/Conference Center/Retail away from the riverbank.
